Matthew Paige Damon nasceu no dia 6 de Outubro de 1970 em Boston no Massachusetts, EUA.
Era estudante na universidade de Harvard quando sentiu o desejo de tornar-se actor apos fugir diversas vezes das aulas ditas normais para assistir ás de teatro. Foi quando teve oportunidade de trabalhar no seu primeiro filme “Geronimo: An American Legend” que desistiu completamente da carreira universitária.
Na vida real, é casado desde 2005 com a Argentina Luciana Barroso e tem 3 filhas.
Foi escolhido pela revista People como umas das 50 pessoas mais bonitas do mundo (1998) e em 2007 foi eleito o homem vivo mais sexy do mundo.
É conhecido pelo empenho que dedica na preparação das suas personagens.
