Rachel Hannah Weisz nasceu no dia 7 de março de 1971 em Londres. É filha de Edith, uma analista austríaca e George um inventor húngaro. Tem uma irmã chamada Minnie.
Aos 14 anos fazia trabalhos como modelo e ao mesmo tempo começou a ter aulas de teatro.

Ganhou o Óscar de melhor actriz secundaria no filme The Constant Gardener (2005).
Foi considerada umas das actrizes mais sexys do mundo em 2002 e uma das mais desejáveis do mundo em 2008.

O último nome é pronunciado como “vice”.
